Join the Salt Lake SBDC and instructor Doug Brockbank for a hands-on, in-person workshop focused on using Claude to build a basic website, app, or automation for your business. You'll work on your own project all day, learning a practical approach to building digital tools that actually fit what you need. This workshop introduces agentic coding — AI that doesn't just suggest code, but writes it, runs it, checks whether it works, and fixes its own mistakes, based on what you tell it you need. You don't have to be a software programmer. You just need to be able to talk in plain English. We'll show you how to use AI to build the web or mobile app of your dreams! You'll also learn the essential infrastructure behind any real project: GitHub for storing and managing your code, database services like Supabase for organizing information, and deployment services like Netlify for getting your project online — and how all three pieces work together. What you'll learn: • Turn an idea into a project — define a manageable business need and guide Claude with clear instructions to build it. • Set up your tools — get started with Claude and GitHub so you can create, save, and manage your work. • Connect the supporting services — learn when and how to use a database and deployment service for your project. • Prepare for launch — test, refine, and work toward deploying your project so you can start putting it to use. By the end of the day, the goal is to have your website, app, or automation deployed — or nearly there — with everything set up to keep building.
